Self-awareness Exercise

Every single encounter and experience in the process of one’s daily life can subtly form different concepts in their mind. These concepts can be developed into ‘automatic thoughts’ that influence an individual to make judgments on their current experiences unconsciously. When these ‘automatic thoughts’ developed into prejudice; or even distorted things out of reality irrationally, they can be unhelpful and harmful for the individual’s emotions and self-confidence. When an individual can be aware of any of these unhelpful thought in their mind, they can make adjustments to their perspectives which can be helpful for healthier emotions.


Here are the 12  types of unhelpful automatic thoughts that people could have developed in general. Try to check them out if you find any one of them that’s familiar with your thinking habit:
